Hello, I’m Devin. 👋#

I’m a software engineer who enjoys building things for the web and understanding how they work underneath.

I spend most of my time working across frontend and backend code, but I’m generally curious about the whole journey from an idea to software running in production. That includes things like databases, APIs, deployment, infrastructure, performance, and the occasional problem that takes far longer to debug than it should.

I’m still learning, and that’s part of the reason this site exists.

✍️ About This Site#

This is my little corner of the internet.

I use it to write about software, projects I’m working on, things I’ve learned, and problems I’ve found interesting enough to remember.

Some posts are technical notes that I might need again in six months. Others are simply thoughts I wanted to put somewhere outside my head.

Not everything here is meant to be a tutorial or a definitive answer. A lot of it is just a record of what I understood at the time.

Hopefully, some of it is useful to someone else too.

🌿 Away From the Keyboard#

Software takes up a fair amount of my attention, but thankfully not all of it.

When I’m not coding, you’ll often find me:

🔴 Watching Arsenal and convincing myself that this season will be less stressful.
🎮 Playing something on my PS5.
🏙️ Wandering around a city, usually looking for somewhere quiet to sit for a while.

There will probably be a few non-technical posts here from time to time as well.

It is a personal website, after all.
